How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
It depends on scope. A simple tub-to-shower conversion might start around $5,000-8,000. A full master bathroom remodel with custom tile work typically runs $12,000-25,000+. I provide detailed written quotes with no hidden fees so you know exactly what you’re paying for before work begins.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most bathroom remodels take 1-3 weeks. A straightforward shower re-tile might be 5-7 days. A full gut renovation with custom tile, new fixtures, and glass enclosure could take 2-3 weeks. I give you a timeline upfront and stick to it.
Do you do the work yourself or use a crew?
I do the tile work myself. That’s the whole point — you’re hiring a specialist, not a company that sends whoever is available. For plumbing, electrical, or glass installation, I coordinate with trusted local tradesmen I’ve worked with for years.
What waterproofing system do you use?
I use Schluter Systems — specifically Kerdi membrane for showers and DITRA for floors. It’s the industry gold standard for waterproofing under tile. Every shower I build gets full membrane coverage, sealed seams, and proper drainage. No exceptions.
Can you match my existing tile?
Often, yes. I have relationships with local tile suppliers and can usually find a close match. If an exact match isn’t possible, I’ll suggest design solutions that make the new work look intentional rather than patched.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. I come to your home, look at the space, discuss what you want, and provide a detailed written quote — all at no cost. I believe in earning your business, not pressuring you into it.

Do I need to supply my own tile?
You can if you’d like — many clients enjoy picking out their own materials. I’m also happy to source tile for you through my supplier network, often at contractor pricing. Either way, I’ll advise you on what works best for your application.
What’s the difference between ceramic and porcelain tile?
Porcelain is denser, harder, and more water-resistant than ceramic. It’s better for floors, showers, and outdoor use. Ceramic is lighter and easier to cut, making it great for backsplashes and wall applications. I’ll recommend the right material for your specific project.
Do you handle permits?
For projects that require permits (typically anything involving plumbing or structural changes), I coordinate the process. Simple tile replacements and backsplash installations usually don’t need permits.
